Speak!
Submitted by DoubleEcksZero on June 6, 2009 - 2:39am.

Being the avid gamer that I am, I do tend to run into a lot of things that annoy me in video games. One of the bigger annoyances for me happens to be the nameless, voiceless protagonist. read more »
Street Fighter IV: Video Games Don't Kill People; Fireballs Do
Submitted by DoubleEcksZero on February 23, 2009 - 10:10pm.

Sometimes I feel like a masochist when I’m gaming. There is one particular genre of game that continually kicks my ass, pisses me off, sends me into controller smashing rages, and makes me want to choke nearby living beings, but I keep on playing them; even though I actually don’t like it all that much. read more »
Amazon Speaks: "Rapelay" Banned
Submitted by DoubleEcksZero on February 15, 2009 - 8:49pm.

I’m never really surprised anymore about the things people choose to complain about recently. Even so, this one sort of caught me by surprise on quite a few levels. As the story goes, Amazon, our friendly neighborhood everything salesman, started, then stopped selling the English patched version of the Japanese game Rapelay. read more »
Downloadable Content Is Evil
Submitted by DoubleEcksZero on February 14, 2009 - 12:49am.
“Anyone else remember when you only needed to pay once to access the contents of the game you bought?” (MehGinla, Kotaku.com) I have a huge issue with downloadable content and the above quotation explains why; this issue has nothing to do with the technology itself, but of the potential abuse of it. Downloadable content for console gaming is a godsend to some. read more »
Persona 3 FES: How to Cut and Paste Like a Pro or Die Trying
Submitted by DoubleEcksZero on December 29, 2008 - 5:47am.
Persona 3 tries to do something innovative, which should be commendable, but it comes off as more annoying than anything else. It is an average dungeon crawler with turn-based battles mixed with a below average dating simulator and a hint of high school. I’ve never wanted strangle a game designer more than when playing this game. read more »
PSN Cheap for All: Zombies, Sea Monkeys, & M.C. Escher
Submitted by William Barrows on December 2, 2008 - 4:54pm.

If you've downloaded the free demos from the Playstation Network(PSN), I bet there's a few games that you kind of liked but can't be bothered to pay $10 for. I know I felt that way about a few games and my patience has been rewarded. read more »
Mirror's Edge
Submitted by DoubleEcksZero on December 1, 2008 - 12:34am.
It’s somewhat rare nowadays that I get truly excited by the announcement of a new game. Sure there are games I look forward to, but they usually don’t spur the sense of excitement I used to feel when gaming was new to me and I had yet to experience all that gaming had to offer. read more »
Fable 2: Fable Drops a Duece
Submitted by DoubleEcksZero on December 1, 2008 - 12:19am.
I haven’t been as let down this bad by game in a very long time. The original Fable was a masterpiece. It had its issues, but it had so much good in it that nothing else really mattered. It introduced a great choice system which drew the player in and was overall loved by everyone. read more »
Linger in Shadows (PSN)
Submitted by William Barrows on November 24, 2008 - 11:24pm.
Linger in Shadows is not a game but it isn't exactly serious either. It's a trippy video that you interact with and watch. You never actually control any of the characters or the environment but instead one or two elements of every scene. You don't actually control the camera, though you can at times shift it outside of the given frame. read more »
First Look: Little Big Planet
Submitted by DoubleEcksZero on October 10, 2008 - 6:11pm.
I was one of the few gamers lucky enough to get into the Little Big Planet Beta, and because it’s not a complete game, this isn’t a review, so I’ll call it a first look. The full game comes out on October 21st. Even though this is only a preview, it is packed full of content. read more »
