About Us
This site is our version of an online independent and interactive magazine, a place where misanthropes can go to meet other misanthropes.
There’s no one particular issue or subject that centers Save the Zombies. It's more about forming a community of smart people, giving them stuff to do, and giving them opportunities to show the world just how smart they think they are. In the public discourse, there’s not much place for a snarky, honest, and interesting conversation, so here we are, too smart for stupid and too stupid for smart.
Here’s how the site breaks down:
Politics, Get Schooled, General Essays, and Gameslop are the magazine part of the site. Read, enjoy, and give your opinion. You can submit your own material via email, and if we like it, we’ll post it. Write about what you like; just make it interesting and well-formed. Submissions should be between 400 and 1500 words long.
Everyone Loves a List is our version of class participation. Lists, riddles, and targeted conversations await the unwary. Be the smartest kid in class.
The Department of Angry Letters is another part of the magazine, and, yes, send us copies of your rants. If they’re funny, impressive, and not evidence of a crime, we’ll post them. Angry Letters should be a maximum of 1500 words, because no one you’re yelling at will keep reading even for that long.
Send all submissions in the body of an email to: TheJodan@savethezombies.com
All work submitted to the site must be original, and not be protected by copyright, trademark, or any other proprietary right. Please note that you have to be a registered user to have your name posted for submitted material, which only requires a name and valid e-mail address. The name of your user account will be the name under which your work is posted.
The Zombie Legion is our version of a column. Because we’re blatantly indulging in nepotism, the legion starts with our family and friends. The Legion gets to post their own material and play with the polls. Send us consistently solid material and you too can join.
Poll Dancing is another form of interactive media, which is the only way to make voting seem cool. Click on your choice for more meaningless ranking of random rabble-rousing races of retorts and ruminations. Alliteration is easy with a dictionary.
The forums are relatively open for all. Of course, keep everything legal, and remember that you are responsible for your own content. You can comment on existing threads without logging in, but if you want to start your own forum topic, you have to log in.
We have more plans for the site, so keep coming back: art, podcasts, webgames, and even a store, so you can celebrate your individuality of thought by wearing and displaying identical copies of other people’s thoughts.
We are a small group of mildly disaffected and disillusioned misfits with various delusions of grandeur. Welcome to the Cult of Independent Thought Using Sarcasm. Zombies be saved.
